I usually spend my first and last night in Bangkok because of airplane connections. Not my favorite city (too congested, too dirty and too expensive) - but - here are some pictures nonetheless.

Near the man-made lake in Khon Kaen, Bung Kaen Nakorn, there is a Chinese temple. They had numerous characters on display outside the temple.

A great restaurant outside the city of Khon Kaen - right on a fish pond. Some excellent seafood here.

I never did find out the official name of this Khon Kaen restaurant - but it is a converted house. The food was good but I had more fun playing ping-pong with the kids.

There is a Cambodian temple ruins located at this Thailand national park. It is currently under dispute between Thailand and Cambodia and troops actually massed at the border. Cambodia wants this to be an official, UN sanctioned, heritage site.
